Job Description: Senior Project Manager – Finance Workstream

Summary The Senior Project Manager (PM) will play a crucial role in the finance workstream of a broader program, managing and delivering system migrations, transitions, and integration projects. Reporting to the Project Lead, the PM will oversee multiple workstreams encompassing people, process, technology, and real estate elements to establish the Target Operating Model for our client. They will collaborate with geographically dispersed teams, engage with senior stakeholders, and provide comprehensive project documentation and governance. This role offers opportunities for professional growth within a flexible and supportive environment.


Location: Urbandale, IA 50323 – Hybrid 2/3 after training


Compensation: $66.00 max hourly

Key Responsibilities


1. Project Management & Execution (40%)


  • Lead and manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery within scope, time, and budget.

  • Utilize tools like Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet (preferred), and Excel for planning, tracking, and reporting.

  • Communicate clear project objectives and activities to team members and stakeholders across regions or functions.

  • Prioritize tasks and drive projects to completion.

  • Identify risks, escalate issues, and ensure effective resolution.

  • Ensure comprehensive project documentation, including meeting notes, status reports, and change control processes.

2. Strategic Support (40%)


  • Develop and present strategic project artifacts, including business cases, assessments, communication plans, and detailed project plans.

  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior finance leadership.

  • Facilitate stakeholder problem-solving and decision-making processes for key project milestones.

  • Deliver polished presentations and status updates in executive-level meetings.

3. Governance and Compliance (20%)


  • Adhere to and enforce project governance frameworks and controls.

  • Manage program deliverables, identify and mitigate risks, and maintain alignment with overall program goals.

  • Ensure compliance with established processes, documentation standards, and control mechanisms.

Qualifications


Essential Qualifications


  • Education & Certifications:

o Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.


o PMP certification (preferred).


  • Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, and Excel.


o Expertise in project documentation tools and systems.


o Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with systems migration processes.


  • Experience:

o Proven experience in managing major change initiatives and large-scale projects.


o Demonstrated ability to manage geographically distributed teams.


o Solid track record of stakeholder engagement at senior leadership levels.


  • Soft Skills:

o Executive presence with excellent presentation and video communication skills.


o Collaborative team player, comfortable asking questions and seeking input from colleagues.


o Strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in facilitating system migrations within the finance workstream.

  • Familiarity with real estate and operational transitions as part of Target Operating Model implementations.
