Key Responsibilities
- Manage the payroll process for employees, including data collection, entry, and validation, as well as the calculation of wages, deductions, and benefits.
- Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax reporting, wage and hour laws, and other statutory requirements.
- Generate and analyze payroll reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Prepare for and facilitate internal and external payroll audits, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and readily available.
- Train and mentor payroll staff, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payroll operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll management experience, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
- Proficient in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, tax codes, and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing a team.
Pay Details: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour
