We are currently seeking a dedicated Payroll Clerk to join our client’s Human Resources team in a hybrid role based out of Sorrento Valley, San Diego, CA. In this position, you will support the Payroll Specialist and assist with various payroll and HR-related tasks. The anticipated salary for this role is between $28-$32 an hour.
Responsibilities:
· Support the processing of bi-weekly employee payroll.
Maintain accurate records for meal periods, rest breaks, and timecard edits.
Review missed punch reports and collaborate with supervisors to ensure corrections.
Process payroll for employees on leave of absence.
Manage and process bonus requests.
Handle termination checks as needed.
Assist in the annual workers' compensation renewal and audit process.
Support the annual 401(k) plan audit.
Assist the Payroll Specialist with various special projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or payroll certification is preferred.
Previous experience in payroll is preferred but not required.
Skilled in using computer software, such as Excel and Word.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse workforce.
Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
