Job Description: As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the components and materials supplied to our manufacturing operations. You will work closely with our suppliers to develop and maintain quality standards, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and experience in building and managing supplier quality programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain supplier quality standards and processes.
- Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Build and manage supplier scorecards to monitor and improve supplier performance.
- Ensure suppliers adhere to ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
- Travel to supplier sites (25-40%) to conduct audits and provide on-site support.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of supplier components into our manufacturing processes.
- Provide Quality Engineering support to R&D in partnership with Manufacturing Engineer to deliver quality parts, materials, and services.
- Perform investigations on non-conformances identified as supplier-related and manage the Supplier Corrective Action Process.
- Develop and conduct statistical analysis to document work and improve supply quality value stream.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and experience in conducting supplier audits.
- Proven experience in building and managing supplier quality programs.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
