Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled RF and Power Microwave Design Engineer to join our team in Rancho Cordova. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing power amplifiers and working with high-frequency, high-power components. This role involves both new product design and updates to existing designs.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and develop RF and microwave power amplifiers.
  • Work with digital circuitry, including splitters and combiners, to amplify signals.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate components into larger systems.
  • Perform engineering changes and updates to existing designs.
  • Ensure designs meet high-frequency, high-power specifications.
  • Utilize HFSS software for design and simulation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to address and resolve any production issues.
  • Design RF & Microwave assemblies, analog circuits, power supplies, and other components used in high-power, solid-state amplifiers and amplifier systems.
  • Develop functional specifications for RF power amplifiers and amplifier systems.
  • Perform RF budget (cascade) analysis.
  • Lead projects to on-time completion of deliverables.
  • Assist in customer proposal development and prepare technical presentations.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5-15 years of experience in RF and microwave power amplifier design.
  • Experience with digital circuitry design, including splitters and combiners.
  • Proficiency in HFSS software. Experience with Microwave Office, ADS, or CST is also acceptable.
  • Knowledge of GaN (Gallium Nitride) material.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced RF/Analog/Digital lab skills.
  • Experience with standard lab equipment such as Vector Signal Analyzers/Generators, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Oscilloscopes.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Familiarity with high-frequency, high-power electronic components.
  • Previous experience working with defense contractors

Compensation:


  • Salary range: Up to $115k-$170k, depending on experience.
  • Relocation assistance and potential sign-on bonus available.
  • Eligible for discretionary bonus and merit increases based on performance.
