Customer Service Associate

Pay: $20/hour- Contract to Hire

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Location: Onsite – Ramsey, NJ

Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Customer Service Associate is responsible for providing professional, timely, and effective support to customers and the internal sales team. This role involves managing inbound inquiries, resolving issues, processing requests, and maintaining strong communication to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer inbound customer calls in a timely, professional manner

• Develop rapport to build and maintain customer relationships

• Follow up on requests from customers and Sales Representatives

• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams

• Resolve immediate customer concerns and problems

• Respond to incoming e-commerce chats and text messages

• Manage return-related email inquiries

• Generate UPS return labels as needed

• Enter orders, adjust pricing or quantities, and access account records

• Process customer credits for returns and billing issues

• Coordinate special shipping instructions

• Collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Shipping, Purchasing, Finance, and Product Management teams

• Support additional administrative and customer service tasks as needed

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency using systems such as SAP, Outlook, Zendesk, Teams, Excel, Word, and web applications

• Strong product knowledge or willingness to learn

• Effective communication and customer‑management abilities

• Ability to remain objective and calm in stressful situations

• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Organized, self‑motivated, and detail‑oriented

• Ability to multitask and prioritize

Education & Training

• Associate degree preferred

• Training in computer systems and product knowledge

• Sales and product-related training provided



Pay Details: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
