Temp to Hire Litigation Paralegal (Civil Litigation/Insurance Defense) - Purchase, New York
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a temp to hire Litigation Paralegal with experience in defense litigation. The ideal Candidate will be able to handle cases from inception to trial and will primarily support trial attorneys as well as conduct legal research and writing to support legal proceedings and have a least 3 years of litigation experience. The candidate will be responsible for the collection and organization of documents and information from various cases at the firm. This candidate should feel comfortable relaying messages between various groups and keeping all documents important to the cases they are working on organized.
Responsibilities
  • Review and draft routine legal documents and conduct legal research
  • Create and maintain case files and be able to handle cases from inception to trial
  • Maintain attorney and Court Calendar/Docket as needed
  • E-file documents in state and federal courts as needed (NY and NJ is a plus)
  • Assist and meet with clients and maintain valued relationships
  • Facilitate organization strategies to meet attorney deadlines efficiently
  • Participate in fact investigation and the negotiation of legal disputes
  • Adhere to state and federal compliance regulations/laws while maintaining the proper storage and confidentiality of client information
Qualifications
  • Recent experience as a Litigation Paralegal and be knowledgeable in Insurance Defense Litigation
  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate (commensurate Paralegal experience)
  • Excellent Written and Oral skills and must be an effective communicator
  • Knowledge of standard MS Office Suite and Legal Research Search Engines
Compensation

Pay Details: $30.00 to $38.00 per hour
