The Payment Poster will provide leadership, cross-training, and general guidance to the cash posting team, ensuring timely and accurate cash posting, adjustments, and reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the cash posting team, ensuring efficient daily and monthly workflow.

  • Assist the patient services department and cash posting team with questions and issues, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.

  • Perform daily cash reporting and update aged accounts receivable balances.

  • Post cash and adjustments accurately in GE, identifying low payments and ensuring timely reconciliation to bank records.

  • Analyze claim data and read/understand EOBs.

  • Access and batch daily lock box contents, clearinghouse remits, and web-based EOBs.

  • Compile receipt information into cash sheets and send daily and month-to-date cash total notifications to management.

  • Notify the team and management of any trends related to partial payments, recoups, slow payments, or other payer-specific issues.

  • Perform all contracted adjustments per matrix and other approved adjustments.

  • Balance daily and monthly receipts and generate appropriate day close and month close reports.

  • Conduct continued research and follow-up on "unapplied" monies.

  • Audit, investigate, and resolve accounts with credit balances and other balance issues submitted by staff and management.

  • Create reports using Excel and/or Access as required.

  • Understand and visibly support the Destination Zero initiative.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • A minimum 6 years of experience in billing, general office procedures, bookkeeping, and/or accounting.

  • At least 3 years of insurance medical billing and EOB experience.

  • Type 35 wpm, proficient with 10-key by touch, and general office equipment.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and Outlook.

  • Ability to read, write, and follow specific instructions in both written and verbal form.

This role is eligible for a $7,500 sign on bonus, and team quarterly bonuses
