Residential Aide (Swing Shift) — Long Beach, CA
Pay: $21/hour • Schedule: Swing Shift (afternoon/evening) • Status: Full-time, On?site • Driver’s License: Required
About the Role
We’re a third?party recruitment agency partnering with a respected residential program in Long Beach, CA. We’re hiring compassionate, reliable Residential Aides to support adults in an interim housing/shelter setting. If you’re calm under pressure, great with people, and committed to helping others stabilize and succeed, this is a meaningful opportunity to make a daily impact.
What You’ll Do
  • Provide on?site resident support: greet residents, answer questions, and ensure a welcoming, safe environment throughout your shift.
  • Monitor common areas and resident floors; observe, report, and help resolve safety or facilities issues promptly.
  • Assist with basic day?to?day needs (e.g., meal distribution, hygiene supplies, room checks) and collaborate with case managers and operations staff.
  • De?escalate situations using trauma?informed, professional communication; complete incident reports and shift logs with accurate documentation.
  • Support resident intake/discharge processes and uphold program rules, confidentiality, and professional boundaries at all times.
  • Drive residents to appointments or program?related activities when needed (company vehicle provided; valid driver’s license required).
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be added to the program’s driving list; clean driving record preferred.
  • Experience in residential, shelter, or customer?service settings supporting vulnerable populations (homeless services, behavioral health, DV/SA survivors, etc.).
  • Strong communication, empathy, and professionalism; comfortable with documentation and basic computer skills (email, word processing).
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and occasionally lift/carry up to 25–30 lbs.
  • Reliability for swing shift coverage, including some weekends/holidays as needed.
Nice to Have
  • Crisis intervention or de?escalation training; familiarity with incident reporting.
  • Experience in social services, supportive housing, or community health settings.
