Customer Service Representative (Temporary Assignment)
Summary
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Customer Service Representative (CSR) for a temporary assignment supporting a busy service center during a leave of absence. This role is ideal for candidates with strong communication and problem-solving skills who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy helping customers resolve issues efficiently.
Location: 750 Progress Parkway, La Salle, IL 61301
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Compensation: $20.00/hour
Work Environment: In-office temperature regulated and On Terminal Doc not temperature regulated…PPE Required-Steel Toe Boots

Typical Day-to-Day Activities
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email.
  • Track shipments and provide status updates.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to overages, shortages, and damaged freight (OS&D).
  • Process billing corrections and documentation errors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of customer concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and resolutions.
  • Support clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and invoice processing.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Use computer service platforms to manage and resolve customer issues.
  • Investigate OS&D claims and ensure proper documentation and resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments including Safety, Linehaul, and Shop Managers.
  • Coordinate service repairs and breakdown assistance for company equipment.
  • Escalate complex issues and follow through to resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all customer interactions.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in customer service, preferably in a call center or logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with OS&D processes and claims handling preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and benefit plans.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.


Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
