Patent Specialist
Location: Irvine, CA
Salary: $90K to $105K per year, along with comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, etc.
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire, Hybrid (4 Days Onsite)
LHH is partnering with a prestigious and well-established law firm to identify a skilled Patent Specialist for their Irvine office. This full-time, hybrid role (4 days onsite) is ideal for a proactive professional with 3+ years of experience in U.S. and international patent prosecution. The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting attorneys through all phases of the patent process including the preparation and filing of U.S. and PCT applications, docket management, client and foreign associate communication, and USPTO/WIPO correspondence. This position is best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and takes ownership of ensuring patent deadlines and procedures are met with precision.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and file U.S. and PCT patent applications, responses, and formal documents with the USPTO and WIPO
Manage patent prosecution timelines and maintain accurate docketing records
Conduct routine correspondence with clients, foreign associates, and government agencies
Handle Information Disclosure Statements (IDS), assignments, and other supporting documents
Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, status reports, and filing strategies
Qualifications:
3+ years of patent prosecution experience including USPTO and PCT filings
Strong understanding of patent filing procedures and timelines
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with patent docketing software (e.g., CPI, Foundation IP, or similar)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently under deadlines
