Customer Service Representative

The Collections Representative plays a key role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for contacting customers regarding past-due accounts, resolving payment issues, and creating win-win solutions — all while delivering empathetic and professional service. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and has a knack for balancing firmness with compassion.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle inbound and outbound calls to resolve delinquent accounts in a professional and respectful manner
Use a consultative and empathetic approach to guide clients toward account resolution
Work with internal departments to research and reconcile account discrepancies
Monitor and maintain assigned accounts; follow up regularly to ensure timely payments
Accurately document interactions and account updates in our system
Assist in achieving department goals for DSO (days sales outstanding) and delinquency rates
Stay informed on compliance regulations and company policies related to collections
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in collections or accounts receivable, preferably in a financial institution
Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-first mindset
Experience working with systems like NetSuite or Great Plains is preferred
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage high-volume workloads
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field is a plus
