LHH has partnered with an established company to hire an experienced hands-on Controller in Dallas, TX to lead the accounting operations and oversee the financial integrity of their multi-entity organization. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the full-cycle close process, streamline workflows, and lead a small but dedicated accounting support team.

What You’ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day work will be diverse and meaningful. Core duties include:
Manage the monthly close process and ensure timely consolidation of financial records
Prepare internal financial reports and external statements for management and stakeholders
Review account balances through customized reports and database queries to ensure accuracy before submission
Coordinate annual financial statement reviews with external CPAs and ensure timely audit completion
Supervise payroll and accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Administer and file sales tax, payroll tax, and property tax obligations
Ensure the implementation and maintenance of strong internal controls and best accounting practices
Oversee tax return preparation and filing at both federal and state levels
Manage resolution of vendor payment issues and participate in cost negotiations
Analyze annual medical insurance plans and lead employee benefits rollout
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA required
10+ years of full cycle accounting experience and 3+ managing and leading a team
Retail, Restaurant or multi location company experience is a plus
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage concurrent priorities
Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Access, SQL and POS systems is required
Capable of managing confidential information with discretion
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proactive, flexible, and self-motivated with a collaborative team spirit
