IT Support Specialist II


Work Location: On-Site, 5 days/week


Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM Pay Range: $30.00-$33.00/hr Reports To: IT Manager

Summary/Objective


The IT Support Specialist II serves as a main point of contact for all technical issues and provides user support to all employees. Responsibilities include monitoring IT requests via ticketing system, phone, email, alerts, patching, network accounts, and computer setups, with an emphasis on NIST recommended cybersecurity best practices.

Essential Functions / Duties



  • Administer and maintain help desk ticketing system, answer phones, email, and support remote locations (onsite/remote).


  • Ensure system security via group policy, manage and set up access controls in AD.


  • Perform patching and updates on endpoints, antivirus, operating systems, applications, and computing equipment regularly.


  • Create user accounts in Active Directory, manage permissions and access lists, with a focus on cybersecurity standards.


  • Maintain MS365 and Azure/Entra accounts, manage email filters, and monitor antivirus alerts.


  • Set up, troubleshoot, repair, and test computer equipment, MDM mobile devices, and related IT networked devices.


  • Assist in administering and ensuring network connectivity throughout the company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure.


  • Maintain network servers, VMs, file/application servers, VPN, and gateways under NIST cybersecurity recommendations.


  • Respond to end-user inquiries and assist in troubleshooting and resolving challenges with a friendly presence and helpful demeanor.


  • Provide basic training for end-users on hardware, software, and processes, including cybersecurity best practices.


  • Work alongside the IT Manager and IT Staff, make recommendations for future tech upgrades, and contribute articles to the IT knowledgebase.


  • Attend educational workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay current in the latest IT trends, skillsets, and certifications.


  • Maintain all associated IT systems, IP phones, devices, network hardware, software, desktop/laptop hardware, and tools required for the job.

Knowledge / Skills



  • Solid experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and Security.


  • Admin hybrid experience in MS365, Exchange/Azure-Entra/Intune administration highly desired.


  • Experience with WAN/LAN, WLAN, VPN, Anti-Virus/malware endpoint applications or similar.


  • Some administration of firewall technology and switching.


  • Experience with network, server, and computer monitoring software.


  • Experience with email-filtering and cybersecurity best practices.


  • Knowledge of iSCSI SAN-NAS and NIST 800-171/CMMC 2.0 is a plus.

  • Strong time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.


  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and follow through from start to completion.

Supervisory Responsibility


The IT Support Specialist II has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands


This position is active and requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, stooping, crawling, climbing, and crouching. Employees should have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Position Type / Hours of Work


This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required based on production or project needs.

Required Education and Experience



  • High school diploma, GED equivalent, or greater educational diploma in a related technology field.


  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience and a working understanding of network technologies and computers, including some Windows Server experience.


  • Real-world experience with MS365/Azure-Entra/Intune administration.


  • Real-world experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP administration.


  • Must be able to speak and understand English; bilingual is a plus.

Work Authorization Clearance


For E-verify and contract security purposes (including ship access lists and CUI handling), all employees MUST present a valid export document. Acceptable documents include a U.S. Birth Certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, Passport, or Passport Card.

Compensation: $30-33/hr
