Grant Accounting Supervisor Needed


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and direct the work of Grant Accountants assigned to the team and program area.


  • Lead team in developing financial reports and dashboards, completing monthly projections, and facilitating monthly meetings with program directors.


  • Review, approve, and post Journal Entries/Vouchers and other adjusting entries necessary for grants.


  • Work with GM Manager, CFO, and FP&A staff to plan and complete the annual agency budget.


  • Prepare budgets for annual refunding applications and review mid-year or mid-grant-term budget adjustment requests.


  • Review and approve personnel cost allocation methodologies and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to funders.


  • Train, coach, and mentor new staff to ensure continuity and consistency in grant management.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or a Bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in accounting or finance required. C.P.A. or M.B.A a plus.


  • 8+ years’ work experience in accounting specifically with preparation of financial statements including 2 or more years in a Supervisory capacity, preferably in nonprofits.


  • Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and OMB Circulars.


  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word; proficient in all other Microsoft Office applications.


  • Extensive experience with computerized accounting systems; working knowledge of Abila Fund Accounting and Adaptive Insights a plus.


  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.


  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with competing deadlines.
