Job Title: Accounting Assistant – Accounts Payable Location: Carson, CA Pay: $24–$26/hour (Based on Experience) Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday Onsite: Fully Onsite Job Type: Contract to Hire
Position Summary:
A well-established company in Carson is seeking an Accounting Assistant with a focus on Accounts Payable to join their team. This entry-level, contract-to-hire role is ideal for someone who has recently completed a degree in Accounting and is looking to build their career in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and code vendor invoices for payment
Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices
Assist with weekly check runs and ACH payments
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Maintain accurate records and files for AP transactions
Support month-end closing tasks related to AP
Assist with special projects as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
1+ year of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting support
Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
