We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Akron, OH. This role focuses on business collections and includes responsibilities in cash applications, journal entries, and accounts payable. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage business collections and follow up on outstanding accounts

• Perform cash application tasks accurately

• Communicate with clients via email and phone to resolve payment issues

• Prepare and post journal entries

• Assist with accounts payable processes as needed

• Utilize Excel pivot tables for reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounting, business collections, and accounts payable

• Strong knowledge of journal entries and cash applications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Schedule & Compensation

• Onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Competitive hourly rate based on experience

• Temp-to-hire opportunity with potential for long-term placement
