Job Title: Management Accountant Location: Ross-on-Wye Remuneration: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum Contract Details: Permanent, Full Time


Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for all financial aspects of management reporting and project control, collaborating closely with operational managers and project staff. Here's what you'll dive into:


  • Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare and analyse accounts to meet strict deadlines.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure key accounts are accurately reconciled.
  • Sales Forecasts & Margin Analysis: Liaise with operational staff to maintain updated forecasts.
  • Project Performance Reporting: Report on Actual vs. Forecast vs. Budget, with thorough analysis of key projects.
  • Control Spreadsheets: Create and evolve spreadsheets for operational project analysis.
  • Business Cases: Prepare documentation for exceptional expenditure, such as CAPEX.
  • Annual Budgeting: Collaborate with department leaders on budget production and monitoring.
  • Cashflow Forecasting: Prepare and maintain accurate cashflow forecasts.
  • Year-End Preparation: Assist in reconciliations and schedules for the audit process.
  • Financial Support for Project Bids: Provide financial analysis and scenario planning for tenders.
  • Process Improvements: Continuously enhance financial processes to support all activities.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Engage in additional tasks to support Finance and Operations as needed.

What You Bring:

We're looking for a proactive individual with:


  • Essential Experience: Management accounting function, preparing accounts from prime records.
  • Qualifications: Qualified or part-qualified in accounting.
  • Skills:

- Exceptional numeracy and attention to detail.

  • The ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills and the initiative to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in IT, especially Excel.
