As Digital Performance Manager, you will own the day-to-day execution and performance of paid and organic social media, retailer.com presence, and emerging commerce platforms within a leading FMCG organisation. You will lead an in-house social-first media strategy across a multi-brand FMCG portfolio, ensuring every digital touchpoint drives measurable commercial impact across grocery, food, and beverage categories.
This role combines commercial performance, creative excellence, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced FMCG environment. You will take the lead on social performance media, retail media networks, social commerce platforms, and support the launch of a new marketplace channel - working closely with brand teams, the social and shopper manager, and external partners to optimise everything from strategy to results.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
Support the Head of Digital Marketing to shape and deliver the FMCG company's digital marketing strategy, ensuring the lead brand remains the primary growth driver while accelerating the wider FMCG portfolio digitally.
Lead the development and in-house execution of a social-first performance media strategy for the lead FMCG brand, delivering engaging and commercially effective campaigns across paid social, influencer content, and emerging platforms.
Portfolio Support
Support premium and core FMCG food brands with full performance planning and reporting for digital communications campaigns.
Deliver and measure seasonal FMCG activation campaigns across paid social and commerce channels.
Partner with a B2B agency to align media and analytics and deliver targeted volume uplift for foodservice and wholesale FMCG channels.
Develop cross-channel campaigns by brand that drive clearly defined social KPIs and retailer impact across grocery retailers.
Stay ahead of social, eCommerce, retail media, and shopper marketing trends within FMCG to shape the future digital roadmap.
Channel Ownership & Execution
Own all paid social performance in-house across major platforms (Meta, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok), driving day-to-day execution, optimisation, and reporting in a high-volume FMCG trading environment.
Lead campaign setup, targeting, creative testing, and performance analysis - from always-on FMCG support to seasonal, promotional, and trade campaigns.
Oversee and run performance across FMCG retail media networks to enhance visibility and sales across key grocery retailer.com channels.
Manage the social commerce shop presence, including listings, optimisation, performance tracking, and fulfilment processes (with platform support) for FMCG products.
Support the wider group team on marketplace strategy setup and execution, including content optimisation and media performance alignment within FMCG marketplaces.
SEO & Content Optimisation
Maintain SEO performance for all branded FMCG websites by optimising existing content and ensuring new content is SEO-friendly.
Collaborate with the Content Manager to align website themes, content calendars, and blog strategies to maximise organic traffic in competitive FMCG categories.
Upload and update content in the CMS regularly, ensuring all new content is optimised for SEO and aligned with FMCG brand messaging and campaigns.
Optimisation, Analytics & Reporting
Lead robust reporting and insight generation across social, retailer.com, and commerce platforms - transforming FMCG performance data into actionable recommendations.
Own the setup and use of GA4, platform insights, retailer dashboards, and campaign reporting to identify areas for growth and efficiency in FMCG trading cycles.
Champion a test-and-learn culture, driving continuous optimisation across content, targeting, placements, and messaging in fast-moving FMCG environments.
Feed performance insights into future campaigns, budget planning, and strategic FMCG brand discussions.
