Financial Accountant

Are you a technically strong, qualified accountant with a passion for statutory reporting and audit? We are looking for a Financial Accountant for a 6-month contract, playing a pivotal role in year-end close and audit process.

This is a hands-on role where your IFRS expertise and audit experience will be key to delivering accurate, timely statutory accounts and managing external audit relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory account workings in line with IFRS and internal deadlines
• Submit year-end trial balances and supporting documentation to auditors
• Review draft financial statements for accuracy and consistency
• Support the Financial Reporting Manager in leading the statutory audit process
• Produce high-quality audit deliverables and working papers
• Act as a key liaison for external auditors, managing queries and fieldwork
• Ensure timely submission of audited accounts to Companies House and other authorities

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in financial accounting, audit, or year-end close
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
• Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills
• Confident communicator with experience managing external audit relationships
• Available on short notice and ready to hit the ground running
