Our client, a respected organisation within the private healthcare sector, is looking for a Reconciliations Supervisor to oversee, guide, and support a reconciliation project covering a significant backlog of historic transactions.


This temporary 3-6 month role is ideal for someone who is confident working with complex financial data, able to problem‑solve at pace, and experienced in leading or mentoring others through detailed reconciliation processes.


The role


You will take a senior position within the project, working closely with the Reconciliation Specialist to ensure 18 months of bank transactions (across multiple accounts) are accurately reviewed, coded, allocated, and resolved. You'll step in for more complex queries, handle exceptions, and ensure the work is completed accurately and efficiently


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide oversight and leadership on a major reconciliation backlog
  • Support and guide the Reconciliation Specialist with day‑to‑day tasks
  • Resolve complex transaction queries and discrepancies
  • Review completed reconciliations for accuracy and completeness
  • Work across several bank accounts with varied transaction volumes
  • Liaise with internal finance teams to clarify or escalate issues
  • Ensure processes are followed and documentation is maintained

Experience & Skills Required


  • Strong background in bank reconciliations and financial control
  • Experience reviewing or supervising reconciliation work
  • Ability to handle complex, high‑volume data accurately
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills; able to "untangle" messy or incomplete transactional data
  • Confident with:

    • Sage 50
    • X‑Ledger
    • Barclays.net
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support another team member effectively
