🚨Senior Construction Lawyer | Leading UK Energy Infrastructure Business
Location: Warwick | Hybrid Working
Sector: Energy, Infrastructure, Legal

Play a Key Role in the UK's Net Zero Journey
The UK is aiming for net zero emissions by 2050-and this organisation is playing a central role in delivering the energy infrastructure to get us there.

LHH have been instructed to secure a Senior Construction Lawyer to help deliver some of the country's most significant and complex infrastructure projects-spanning substations, overhead lines, underground cables, and potentially offshore connections.

This is an opportunity to combine legal excellence with real-world impact, contributing to the delivery of major low-carbon energy initiatives.

Why This Role Stands Out
You'll provide strategic legal support across high-value infrastructure projects (ranging from £millions to £billions), advising on construction and engineering matters. Working closely with commercial, procurement, and project delivery teams, you'll play a critical role in shaping contracts and strategies that directly enable the UK's clean energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice on construction contracts for major infrastructure projects.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate NEC, FIDIC, EPC, and framework agreements.

  • Support procurement processes under the Utilities Contracts Regulations and Procurement Act (training provided if needed).

  • Advise project teams on legal matters during delivery, including risk mitigation and contract interpretation.

  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and ensure effective, budget-conscious delivery.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the broader legal team on commercial, IP, data, and outsourcing matters.

👩‍⚖️ What We're Looking For

  • UK Qualified solicitor or barrister with strong experience in non-contentious construction law.

  • Background in either private practice or an in-house legal team.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure or energy projects and relevant contract forms (NEC, FIDIC, EPC).

  • Bonus: Experience in procurement law or advising in regulated industries.

  • Strategic thinker, strong communicator, and relationship builder.

  • Able to influence project direction and mentor other legal team members.

What's On Offer

  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience)

  • Bonus of up to 40% (20% target)

  • Double-matched pension scheme (up to 12% company contribution)

  • Private medical insurance

  • Company EV car or cash allowance

  • Flexible benefits: share schemes, tech programs, EAP support, charity match giving

  • Hybrid working with a blend of office and home
